I have searched through the treads and most people have had this problem but have a single mod or something else I havent done much. It started the other day my boost controller is turned off and removed. The car comming to a stop started idleing ruff and missing like on one or more cylinders. Then I looked behind me and I had a white cloud behind me. So I stopped and checked things out nothing out of the ordinary. So I started it up and it did it again and then stopped and ran fine for days after. Now it has started again and it wont stay running. I have pulled plugs and they are black kinda figured that seeing as the smoke smells like fuel. I dont have a fuel controller and no other controller connected right now. I know it is a spark problem or is it. I was wondering because you guys have dealt with this motor for way longer than I have. I have checked for vaccum leaks fuel leaks and even made sure spark is good I changed the plugs. Still does it so any help would help thanx.

Black smoke indicates a rich fuel mixture.
White smoke is oil in your combustion or anywhere in your exhaust side.
Could be your turbos starting to go.

OK will it be noticable if I were to crack open the case on the ECU. Or is it something that is way into the circuit board. I would say it was the turbos but the boost never bleeds. And you can smell it, it is like raw gas at the rear of the car. So if were to just get it fixed then what do I need to do and where do I send it.

your ECU blew a cap, it's common. In my 2 years of JZ powered cars I've gone thru 4 of them. It's about $80 to fix from a forum sponsor on here...
Yeh most likely...

My car would create this huge white smoke cloud after you drive it about 5 minutes and it would sputter and die. Was running so rich gas was just dripping out of the muffler. After replacing all the sensors on it, found out it was ecu. Swapped for another stock ecu and it's been running fine ever since.

Thanx for all the info guys been a real help. I am still getting used to this motor cause I have only dealt with the 7M's for so long till now I do like the potential of this motor a lot better though.

Granted you have checked all of the sensors but did you open up the ECU and check the caps. That is what mine turned out to be. There are five of them in the ECU look for black looking goop below it on the board. If the goop is there then the cap is bad and needs to be replaced. I just had all of them replaced at once and it fixed all of my problems. Nate may be right as well check your head gasket it might not be the problem but if you check it then it is one less thing on the list. There has been quite a few people on here that have posted pics of the blown caps it is a normal thing with the 1JZ ECU.

+1 rent a compression tester for like $40 from orielly just to be sure. you could also get a vaccum gauge from harbour freight for like 20. If they check out fine then drive a few hundred miles to see if you are burning oil, if not then I think caps may be the issue.
