Ok- So I have a 1jz in the car and was running great started everytime. Well I wanted to put a single fuel line in and eliminate the dampener. SO....I went ahead and made a single line from the filter to the fuel rail and now starts go like this- Turn key car starts idles up nad than dies, turn key car starts than dies - about the 3rd or forth time the car starts just about stalls again and than picks idle back up but very low- I can give it gas and it responds fine. The only thing I can think of is the stock pump. I tried to put back on the dampener and gas pisses out everywhere so I must have damaged it somehow- Any suggestions as to why or how to fix--Maybe put a WALBRO in? This is just a complete stock 1jz nothing fancy.

hard to say what happened with the fuel pump...but I recommend NOT using a walbro. They seem to have a higher than acceptable (by my standards) failure rate. When I went with a new pump I used a MKIV pump rather than the cheap easy (until it breaks once) route.

Im kinda having the same problem right now. i can start it up a couple pf times and it will fianlly idle but at 2k rpm. but when i give it gas it just dies. i had my fuel dampener off before the swap and you gave me an idea i might haev put it back on wrong or somthing. its starting to piss me off cause i cant figure out whats wrong.

Ok I noticed that I had a hose broke on the vsv going to charcoal can so I removed and capped the pipe under TB and pipe on the intake- When I did this the car started and idled real nice however I forgot to plug one of the ports and was sucking huge air- I put my finger over the port and it goes back to real low idle and stumbles- WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!! bad idle control? I dont have coolant running thru it so I dont leave it run all that long- could it just be that the ECU needs more time to learn the new fuel flow pressure? I should have coolant running thru her this weekend- Just got my Griffin rad and spal 16 electric :)

Thats what I was hoping to find when I noticed the broken nipple on the vacuum switch for the can,but no go. All I found out that the car runs better with an open port - lol -
I can leave it open for that whoosh sound effect when I turn the car off though - HEHE - JKing - Whats weird is by taking off the dampener the engine starves for fuel with no open ports? With an open port the ECU is dumping more gas to compensate and producing a nice idle. I khave heard that the ecu will need to remap for the different flow rate-per Aaron at Driftmotion, but how many times no I need to start!! Does the IGNSW wire have to be connected for the ecu to remap starting perams? I was told that it only runs the dianostics plug on engine. Any help here guys would be much appreciated-

P.S I didnt see any other loose/broken connectors.

OK
do you have a a/r gauage? if your not getting enough fuel that should be able to tell you, when was the last time you changed your fuel filter?
