I was wondering if there are any programs out there that I can download and reflash my stock 1J ECU to make it like a blitz, sard, or other upgraded nonstandalone ECU? Please let me know if u know where any programs are or if u have even heard of this on a 1JZ ECU? Thank you! - Ryan

What do u mean Joe? My school and dad's Toyota dealership both have reflashing programs on the OBDII computers. Just trying to get any info I can on it. It would be very easy and way cheaper than going standalone.

Do you mean like being able to download a file to adjust fuel and timing maps to your specific setup?
If it were so simple that we could just download a file to change the ECU settings, we'd all be doing it and tuning out the ass. Piggy backs would obsolete.

Opps, I meant OBD and OBDII. 1JZ is just OBD and I was just curious as to if anyone has been able to do anything with the stock ecu. I have never heard anything about it so I doubted it was possable. I was wondering about fuel trims and timing adjustments. Thanks all for the info.

I'm sure if someone reverse engineered the blitz ecu they could copy the daughter board and sell reflashed eproms w/ new progrmas.. but not enough money in it to invest the time..
blitz ecu's have an extra board, so do the mines. So it looks like even the blitz's and mines' of this earth couldn't get into the stock eproms to change things.
All partnumbers of the eproms used on the extra board have been carefully filed off, guess they want to keep their technology to them selves ;-)

I can try with my Friend, He already fixes DSM ecus & he also makes Eprom chips for dsm, & he works for the that makes the Sidekick, He is trying to redesign the hardware for a new sidekick, I was supposed to drop the 3 broken 1jz ecus so he can figured what burns other than the caps.

that would make all our life so easy, wait, who said life was easy, DAMNIT!! so theres no way that we could take off the daughter boards, and then have them put back onto ours?? damn.. that sucks
