So i know im new to the forum but ive been lookin all over to see what diff. guys are doin to thier 1jz's to make power, ive been contemplating on a few diff. things but im tryin to figure out what setups make good power without wastin my money and buyin the wrong thing, id like to break into the 600hp range, and i was thinkin about twin gt28's, cams, and a power fc, but im not sure if the gt28's will get the job done, anyone have any suggestions or where i can research into this stuff more?

Twin anything equals mucho donero.

To reach 600rwhp on a daily basis you're going to have to either run methanol injection, E-85, or race gas. There are plenty of threads in here on different setups. Mine is a 1.5jz with a pt67 and methanol. I currently make 616rwhp @ 22psi with metanol injection. I also run a Stinger ems with BC cams.

I applaud you! You used "research" and "without wasting money" in your first post. It seems like we see nothing but "tell me how" followed by an outrageous plan that rarely every gets completed around here.

Pay Attention to Jay's (Supra hero) post. He has ran the gamut of set ups and he offers excellent info. Oh, welcome to SM

I can give you both sides of what you're asking. I had a custom twin GT28R setup on my car and spent loads of money only to sell it and go single. LOTS of custom parts, lots of rigging to make it all fit together, and lots of pain in the ass. It was fun, EVERYONE was like, "HOLY SHIT" when I popped my hood, but in the end, I didn't build it for bling/wow factor, I built it for a fun street car.

After I sold that I went with a 67 and have been slowly adding to it since then. I haven't even reached anywhere near the potential of the 67 yet (real life and job shit are priorities) but I like it exponentially better than the twins. With that being said, thats just my .02 from what I've DONE (not read online) so take it for what its worth. Feel free to PM if you want anything super specific or need pics, but for the money, I'd just go single.

I would have to agree with the guy above me, I went with a big twin kit too. It actually came with the car and while the bling factor was cool it was too much piping and heatsoak was a issue(crazy powerband though)

You are better off just going with a appropriately sized single. Don't listen to the twin turbo hype. Just cause mk4's have them doesn't mean its better:naughty:
