I have a 7MGTE and wanted to use a FFIM, I seen pics of several 7M's with what look to be 1jz or 2jz Intake manifolds on them, just wondering if they are direct bolt on and if not how hard to use them is it? I just think it would clean up a lot of plumbing issues and look cool too, I hate the stock setup for the intake manifold. Thanks

yea, the stock intake manifold and resulting intercooler piping is pretty inneficient but all the ffim's u see are custom 2j manifolds welded up to the lower intake manifold

ahhhh ok thanks man, I'll prolly go with a ron ramirez special as I have seen he does great work and they make better power since as you say the custom 2jz manifolds are pretty inefficient, right now I have 2 1'4 inch custom hardpipes to my stock manifold and intercooler and a HKS SSQV BOV. works well but I wanna do a head rebuild and upgraded intercooler soon and then swap turbos

No they're not. Ron Ramierez makes FFIM's for the 7m. Don't jump to conclusions so quickly, as a brief search would have yielded this thread:

For the question, Yes Its possible .It needs both lower manis to be modified welded together or make a custom adapter to make them fit. Im going the both manis welded route with a 1jz ffim still not finish. :)

More info of it on my build thread, thanks

I took out all my ac components, and the alternator looks like it would fit nice where the A/C compressor was, with a custom bracket of course. Thoughts??

It's common to have either an alternator drop down bracket to keep A/C or have a custom bracket to delete the A/C and relocate the alternator to the A/C position. I have a 2JZ converted FFIM and drop down bracket for sale in the for sale section, http://www.supramania.com/forums/sh...onnecting-rods-FFIM-IS300-Coils-amp-Helicoils

That´s way to cheap for an FFIM so there is my 2cents of advice lol. I have no choise I already bought the 1jz one. I wish I could found out sooner.

Its really not too cheap. Its not that complicated of a piece to make once you figure out how your going to make it.

but really what kind of hp gains can be had out of a ffim is it really worth it

Depending on the manifold and your setup, nothing to alot. Its more the ease of intercooler routing then anything else.

Price on 7M manifolds suck, I just got interested in that 189$ on driftmotion and just make it fit the 7M.

How much difference is there in the runners between 7m and 1jz, or 2jz?

I know the flange doesn´t fit, but how about the runner placement?

Maybe its easier to buy the 2jz and just weld own runners with 7m flange against Head and 2jz flange against manifold?

You need to cut both lower manifold runners almost half way or to where ever they closest fit and then weld them together. If your going to do that you may as well put in a little more work and make a custom one on that stock 7m runners.
