1JZ idles low after APEXI turbo timer install??

I installed a used apexi tt with harness, and an amp today, and when I started it back up, it idles at 500 rpm...I have since disconnected the amp, and battery but still same idle.

I didn't hook up the o2 feature with the tt, that requires you to tap into one wire on the ecu; I just connected the harness, and grounded the black wire. The TT functions properly too btw.

Any ideas on why my idle is so low?? It is usually at 800-900 rpm; 500 can't be normal...

Mine idles at 600 when it's warmed up. Check your ISC.

I've been looking on the mkiv tsrm, for a IAC valve (EDIT: same part, different name, right?) and cannot find any info on the valve, or how to check it...just removal.

how do I "check" my ISC? unplug it while running and see what the engine does?? kind of lost here as you can tell...

thanks

Scratch that last post, problem is fixed!!!! (for now at least).

So I pulled the EFI fuse, and then disconnected the battery, let it sit for half hour, started it up, and it idled normally for less than a minute...then started to bump down, 100 rpm at a time, back down to right at 500 rpm. I turn it off, start it up, idle goes straight to 500....

Then I remember reading about checking the idle on the 2jzgte TSRM, and it said that you should hold the engine at 2500 rpm for 90 seconds, let go, and it should drop to 650 rpm (+/- 50 rpm). So I did, and the tach dropped right down to 650!! So I drove it around, shut it off and on, and it stayed in the 650-750 range the whole time. Kinda weird, but glad it was a simple fix..We will see how it likes a cold start in the a.m. tho...

BTW, the 150 rpm difference from normal to what it was at wasn't my main concern, it was the thought that a critical sensor was about to fail on me.
