So I am trying to sort out the wiring that I will need to do for this swap to finally get this engine that has been sitting in my garage into the car. Everything makes sense so far, EXCEPT the EA2 harness / fusebox wiring. The information that I have found online has been a bit vague.
Everyone says this is the easiest part of the wiring, so I'm probably misunderstanding something fundamental.
My current plan is to plug the MA70 engine bay harness to the JZA70 alternator and alternator plug, and transfer the EA2 harness from the JZA70 to the MA70. I was going to splice the MA70 alt plug wires into the JZA70 engine harness at the following location RIGHT NEAR the alt in the 1jz:
I thought this made sense because I get continuity between all 3 1jz alt plug pins and the EA2 connector by the fusebox.
Next, I will need to cut the EA2 harness from the JZA70 and splice it into the MA70 harness. Based ont he research that I have done, I can simply splice the EF1 signal wires from the C1 connector to the EA2 harness, connect the 3 alt wire plug pins to the EA2, and transplant the AC relay from the JZA-70.
The problem is, to sepeate the EA2 harness from the JZA70, I will have to cut some wires; namely 2 alt wires and some nonsense for the hydro fan, which I will NOT be using:
I believe those 2 alt wires that I cut need to be spliced back into the harness that goes to the cabin plugs by the drivers left foot. I was able to trace these 2 (black-yellow & yellow-green to be cut) alt wires back to the JZA70 cabin plugs. HOWEVER, I was only able to trace 1 of these wires (black-yellow) back to the MA70 cabin plugs. ...just remembering now that i had the harness disconnected from the fusebox when I tried to trace the alt lines back to the cabin plugs on the MA70.
Anyway - assuming I can find that other (yellow-green) alt pin on the MA70 cabin plugs, will I need to splice those 2 cut wires back to their respective plugs?
ALSO as a side note, I think my 2F plug fromt the 1JZ EA2 harness may be missing a pin. All of the diagrams that I have found show 6 pins connected. I only have 5:
herrrrp, prrrreaze!
Thanks
