Guys, just curious if anyone has any tips for getting the front turbo out relatively easily. Problem I'm trying to inspect is the wastegate on the front stock turbo. I believe the clip that holds the actuator arm has fallen off... I vaguely remember doing this when I replaced the y-pipe, but it's been a long time now. Any help would be appreciated, I'll try digging up some more info later, but in the meantime, thanks! :)

Pretty sure you have to remove both to get either or off.

But you should be able to see the wastegate arm below the turbo just like on the ct26.

Bingo, found that out after cursing the engineer who put the heat shield on these turbos... stupid thing. Anyway, thing was hooked up correctly, but it seems to be behaving a bit odd. Usually, it'll spool up hard around 2500 rpm, but lately it's been taking more like 3000+ to get the thing going like it used to... thoughts?

Well, both wastegates have plenty of resistance when trying to open them by hand. Tough to get much leverage on them though, given the cramped location... If one were bad (stuck closed), I would have a ton of boost pressure, correct? If one was open, it would boost rather lazily (over-stressing the one working turbo). Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Now, when you say that the turbo might be going bad, what might you mean? I do see a trail of oil that dripped down the radiator hose from the front turbo at some point, appears to have come from the drain tube though... Believe one turbo to have been rebuilt at some point in it's life cycle, but what that's worth on these ceramic turbos I dunno. Not terribly worried about it, the turbo is the next thing to be saved up for anyway, just curious if anyone has run into this before or not.

...and just like that the car is behaving like normal, boosting hard as it used to. I swear this car has WAY too much personality for it's own good. :p

The car and myself both... but not until the widebody setup is done. I might drive it without the wheels I have in mind, but getting all the body done is first on the plate. ;)
