ive been looking around for 1jz front clips and so far ive come down to either the jarcoinc front clip or the one from driftmotion. they both seem like good deals, but i like the driftmotion better cause its $300 cheaper. =) although the jarcoinc seems to come with the diff, driveshaft, and whatnot. where the driftmotion seems to fallshort. BUT i don't really know thats why im asking which would be the better buy!?!?!?!? also if you guys happen to know any other sites that have good deal..clue me in. thanks in advance.

Well the drive shaft that you have for your 7MGTE will work with the 1jz. and the Rear end (torsen) will blow up! Dont ask me how I know! So keep your stocker. If you really want the rear end we can included for the same price as Jarco and same goes for the drive shaft, that is if it wasn't cut off.

I've heard really good things about Jarco taking care of thier customers....i.e.- if something comes in damaged on the clip, they will try to source out another one for you....but then again, I have no experience with Driftmotion, either tho, so nothing against them. Seem to be good guys that are very concerned with the MKIII community.

and call me dumb, but I like the idea of getting that torsen diff! lol then again, I'm not a drag racer...so to each his own....

ahhh now everyone has me running in circles again! i like the idea of the 12 month warr. but i don't like the idea of paying for a diff that is going to blow up on me. i don't i guess ill just have to think on it. if you guys have anymore info..let me know.

The differential isn't guaranteed to blow up on you. Just because one person had a problem with theirs doesn't necessarily mean you will have the same experience.

Same with the company that you get your clip from. I got my clip from Venus and never had a single problem. They were even nice enough to knock off $200 from the price because the IC was in bad shape. That more than paid for my aftermarket replacement.

But you may not have the same experience I did.

^^yes yes i agree with that. My main thing is the money im, looking to spend the least amount of money with out skimping on this. the reason im worried about the money is because i have an MG miget im about to start on as well as an FC rx-7. so id like to save some money on this clip but not get the "cheap" crap.

also anyone wanna hook me up with a venus link so i can check out there clip???

thanks

My experience was not that great with Venus. The guy is a real douchebag and will try and screw you any way he can. My clip was missing a DP and when i went back to get one there was 2 options, a cut pipe and one from an SC (soarer?). That said the motor itself is in pretty decent shape. Basically shipping is why I mainly ordered from venus since they are just across town. If i was having one shipped in I definitely would go with a Jarco or Driftmotion tho as I hear good stuff about them both.

inline6: I agree. If you go through Venus Auto, make sure you deal with Vickie. She is the nice receptionist that answers the phones in the afternoons. I hope she still works there. She is great to work with and will take care of whatever you need. I would strongly advise not talking to the one or two guys there that don't speak good English. I'm far from racist, but they didn't seem to care about helping me out. But Vickie does.

Try to call any of these places that sell clips for less or more then us and ask them technical questions and see how fast they come up with an answer. Aaron and I both have done lots of 1jz swaps with no problems at all. We are enthusiast helping other enthusiasts; we both purchased our clips from the same three places that we get your clips from. You can get a 12 month warrantee from Jarco, but we all know what we are going to do with these engines, and I think any warrantee is void after that. This is how I see it buy from the place that will help you the most.

seems like you guys at driftmotion can help me out the most.

Alot of people talk the talk. Best thing you can do is buy it from whoever talks the best talk and see if they follow up. Im sure in one way or another they will all pull the same crap if something goes wrong. Thats how people keep money in their pockets.

ropadopa: i think i would spend the same amount of money shipoing from those guys as i would going to pick it up. i like in the panhandle...panama city. so after food and gas and hotel it would be about the same.

Itr206: yeah i know how it is in sales. youll say anything to get someone to buy something and you want to look the best.

i guess the best thing to do would be start calling around are see who has the best to offer.

if anyone else has an 1jz-clip buying experience please do share

My clip came from Jarco...it's a good clip. I'd probably trust Drift Motion too...I've ordered other parts from them (P/S line) and they have been very helpful. I'm confident if I had any questions they'd be great guys about it. I know that they probably have WAY MORE experience than any other clip supplier about actually putting a 1JZ into a MkIII body (or any other car for that matter) and thier experience and knowlege would be invaluable for any questions you may and probably will have during your swap.

Just my 1000 pesos.
