Thank you very much

Is this also a CHASER ECU? Considering the spacing on the side of the ECU compared to the above posted they look different. Does anyone have the actual Toyota Part numbers for Soarer Supra and Chaser ECU's? from the units themselves? When you say the remaining plugs are attached to the body harness, I assumed you SOL'd and have to buy a matching ECU plug from Toyota and repin both of those plugs?

Anyone have the serial numbers for those two plugs as well?

That is a Chaser Ecu. The missing plugs are still attached to the body harness. You are going to have to by a Jumper harness and cut the plugs you need and make the body connections your self.

if by "jumper harness" you mean c85 and c86 plugs with pins, and if by "cut the plugs you need and make the body connections yourself" you mean splice the things that are necessary from the body harness plugs into the appropriate pins on c85 and c86, then yeah...

Part number for an auto ecu for a Chaser is 89661-22610
and what chaser/jzx did this come out of? I came up with a different p/n for each, jzx81,90, and 100. Some of them have different p/n's for manual or auto. NONE of them corresponded with the # you produced. Also, neither the op or altezza576 stated whether or not they were running a vvti 1j, or auto, so just curious how you can provide an answer for something when you don't have all the facts... Altezza... If the 2 missing plugs for your ecu aren't on your harness and there is no cuts, then it was probably out of a jzx90 or newer. BTW, these are cheap and easy to replace

Agreed with this statement. The two plug you are missing how many pins are there on the ECU I can find you the Plug part #'s.

Funny thing is I bought this ECU form you Eathen SO you should know what it was from.

The missing plugs are the 16 pin and the 28 pin which are apart of the Chaser body harness. You could buy these plugs from Toyota and repin them you self or you can buy a Jumper Harness like this. http://www.autosportwiring.com/index.html
It is already pinned and you just have to cut and solder I am doing it this way you dont have to.

Altezza just asked if his ECU was a chaser which I didn't answer and he also wanted to know some part numbers I only have the Auto ECU sitting in front of me as a reference if I also had a Manual ECU I would have giving him that number as well
All of the 1jz vvti ecu's that I have seen have white ecu plugs.

Clearly the ECU pictured is from a MT 1j try zooming in ?

So I didnt bother asking if about auto or manual because I knew OP had a manual ecu and that it wasn't a VVTI because it was a grey plug ecu ...

Enough facts for you?

Mattsplat et al,
Thank you for the input.... Im currently shopping for a non VVTi 1JZGTE here in the NYC area. I'd just like to know what I am looking at and being sold prior to me handing over $$$. I dont want to buy things that are gonna sit on a shelf and only lead to me buying or reselling, or correcting parts. Im on a budget here and dont want to spend good $$ on unusable parts.

Well Altezza if I had a do over I would buy a Soarer or a Supra harness and ecu set up. There are a few really good write up on Soarer into Supra swaps. I have had a really hard time finding anything on swapping a Chaser set up into a Supra. Most people have said to use the Soarer write up as the ECU's are Identical. I have yet to attempt this so I cant really say either way.

Trust me I tend to agree with you. but to be honest I dont think many importers care to document these swaps between Soarer, Supra or Chaser. To most I guess 1JZ = 1JZ. They just receive and flip them. Im planning for the worst case scenario. I hate to lose momentum on a swap because of resources not at my fingertips when I could have preordered lots on misc parts.

HAHAHAHAHAHA you paid that much for that crapbox jumper harness just so someone could put the pins in the right place?!!!???! I found these two plugs for less than ten bucks the first place I went in town, not toyota. I bought a 1j swap out of a chaser and was missing these as well, C85 (16 pin) & C86 (28 pin) . I thought I was effed until I used this awesome thing called google and twenty minutes later I'm on my way with my missing pieces. Not trying to be a dick here, I just think it's gay when someone tells someone else they "have to" do something when they don't. Your reply shoulda started with "this is what I did" instead. Hopefully he didn't listen and saves himself 200bucks and can have it finished before your magical jumper harness could arrive in the mail

I never used the ones I have because I wanted to do it right, so I just bought the right harness (soarer) for my setup.
but your right the ones I have would need to be dissembled and some wires taken out or swapped around.

No need to get bent out of shape because someone buys a jumper harness. I will be repinning my swap with the correct colored wires adn plugs. I have lots of cut harness plugs and pins with various colors I can reuse. Anyone care to share where they found the Chaser plugs in case we need them?
