So close to finishing my 1jz powered 240sx and this happens:cry:...Basically everything is working except that its not starting lol. Fuel pump turns on. Its cranking. Im getting spark in all 6 cylinders. So i dont know what to do at this point. Last person with my harness showed me that his car started up everytime so i dont understand why it wouldnt work on my car. At this point my battery is dead so everybody give me suggestions on what it could be.

List of things i have done that i found out thru research
1. Played around with the TPS plug.
2. Checked if everything is plugged in. (Vacuum hoses,Plugs,Starter,Ignitor Chip, IACV, Map Sensor BLAH BLAH BLAH Literally EVERYTHING)
3. Checked ALL ground wires.
4. Unplug EFI fuse for 30sec to a minute.
5. Checked for spark.
6. Checked for fuel pump

anything else missing from that list let me know

so your saying that you get fuel and spark but it wont start?

if you cranked it till the battery was dead and no start then;
1: you should smell gas wile siting in the car and if you stick your nose close to the tail pipe you should get high, very high.
2: you might need a new starter a little earlier.

just to humor us try to start it using starter fluid. I ran mine off a water bottle with a little bit of gas in it, with a vac hose from the intake to the bottle for my first start up. the cranking makes vacuum and sucks the gas though the line. (do not attempt unless you know what your doing you could start a big fire) I wanted to make 100% sure it was getting fuel and that's how I did it. My ecu was shot and the injectors would not fire right, they fired but at like 1%. so i was faintly smelling gas but it was just not the right amount to start.

i forgot to do the whole spray some starter fluid or brake fluid in the intake to get it started. It totally went over my head. It could be that my injectors are not getting pulse. I also still need to check that. Like i said the harness was fine with last owner i dont get why it should work for my car when we have the same car and model. Im gonna pop out one of my spark plugs to see if i am indeed getting fuel tommorow morning.

No it'd still be getting power even if the battery's dead. Its what keeps your battery charged. Just make sure its not double grounded. It could be the reason your battery's dead.

I'm with staticpage. It could very well be the ECU. Try starting fluid.

ECU is in good shape. I took it apart myself to see if that was the problem but its a healthy ECU

Ok so i just pulled out my spark plugs and i dont smell ANY gas on them. Sean(2jzswapper), if you guys know who he is, was explaining to me that after a couple months of sitting that the injectors stick closed due to the xylene in gasoline. So starter fluid is going in after i get back from pepboys and we will see what happens :D

From the very limited knowledge of the 1jz I have, and from your last post is sounds more and more like the ECU. Do you have access to another one you can test with? Unless you really think all 6 injectors froze up, (highly doubt that)

The ecu is fine man. I can have someone vouch for the ECU. If i can get my hands on another chaser/soarer ecu from a running car then that would be cool

The car wants to start on starter fluid but still not getting any fuel to the cumbustion chamber :/ ill figure it out sooner or later. If anyone local has an ECU i can borrow for the day that would be awsome!!!

check all your fuses make sure they are all in place mine did this and i realized i had a blown fuses then my alternator was bad but it did the same thing it would turn over and try to start but nothing. if you said you checked your ecu and its good start with fueses and if there all good your ecu is fried. im leaning more towards ecu though but when you get all giddy you can miss small things sometimes

a crude way to test your injectors or rather your ecu signal to injectors. pull a plug off an injector and rig up a 12v light to the two injector wires like a 1157, when you crank, it should flash rather fast.
