1jz clips are gone?

Alright, so I finally save up enough money to get a donor car to swap a 1jz into, and there are NO front clips anywhere. Jhot, driftmotion, Suprasport, 935, tigerjapanese, NOBODY has the front clip.

Front clip makes it so much easier, and would be a lot cheaper in the long run. I say this because I'm also doing a 5 speed swap, and the front clip would have all the clutch parts I need, the mounts, the harness, ECU, and all that good stuff.

And not only are there no front clips, there are no complete 1jz sets anywhere either. Everybody has just the motor, just the transmission, just the motor and transmission with no harness. What should I do?

I'm ready to take my 5k and buy a 1jz. I have the motor and transmission out of my car, and something ready to go in.

Any advice?

Thanks

Jarco nor Kaizen has them in stock.

I'm thinking of just buying an engine set. Where could I find a trustworthy shop that would sell a set?

I have a friend who just bought a front clip from tigerjapanese and the motor was blown, and they wouldn't replace it (Engine was SEIZED, I guess lack of oil). I want to get all the parts I need to swap, I have cash in hand and ready to go. Been searching for about a week now and nothing. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks guys

Well, then don't buy a clip, I was going too, but think of it this way, It cost more, and you have a ton of shit to throw away in the end.

I'm in this boat.

I bought a JZA70 front clip, and I have an MX83 cressida.

so I have a LOT of shit I can't use and will probably just end up throwing away.

Well I think the issue at hand is he wants all the parts to complete the swap at once. This way he won't have to try and source the pieces missing.

This is true, I'm having trouble finding a DS now, but it wouldn't have come with the clip, best thing to do is source and buy and source and buy.
You can always do work on other things when you don't have parts, believe me you will find something to work on.

Bingo.

I guess I will have to get the ECU+Harness+motor+tranny all at once. Send the harness to Tweak for extension. Get a master and slave from driftmotion or Suprasport and the driveshaft. Then source the rest of the parts (ig, sensors, ect)

Thanks guys

you can try www.japanpowerinc.com I got my JZA70 imported through them , and the have 1j and 2j clips , and many more... they seem like fare people ...

god luck

No front clip. However they have the engine, tranny, wiring harness, and ECU for 2200+500 shipping. That would leave me with 2300 to buy mounts, driveshaft, downpipe, and ect ect for a swap. Would 2300 be enough to fit the engine and tranny once I get the motor delivered here? I would also need the stuff for the 5 speed swap (Slave and master, lines, pedal)

I could seriously sell a clip a day if there were more available. I got calls from 5 people wanting a 1jz clip today alone! You guys are unfortunately just a little late to the 1jz party. There's 1jz longblocks, 1jz vvti longblocks, 2jz vvti longblocks, 2jz-ge engines for na-t setups, but very few clips. The easy route with the clip is going to be a thing of the past, just like 7m-gte clips. Just be careful on buying a clip from ebay, they seem to trick supra people into buying chaser and soarer clips and play stupid once it shows up at your house. I would also recommend you go with the people mentioned earlier, Jhot, Kaisen, Jarco, 935, Tiger, etc...

Between the price of scrap in Japan going up, the US dollar going down, and considering that most of the clips we want are over 15 years old now, it's incredible it has lasted as long as it did.

no joke, they lasted a lot longer than say s-chassis clips in general.. gotta figure the last actual jza70 motors were 91>92. its a long time..

apparently japan is crushing and recyling lots of scrap from yards including cars, so that doesn't help the cause either but its to try to help their economy. the yen is dropping value day by day.
