i know with the 7m you can run the auto electronics and harnes with a 5 speed but is this the same for the 5 speed?

I don't know if i fully understand what your asking. An auto ECU can be used in a 5 speed car from what i hear.

Yes you can. But, you have to jump the Neutral Safety Switch for it to start. IIRC, it is located in the big plug that goes to the tranny. At least it was for my soarer harness.
yea, you have to do the neutral safety switch, and if you want the features of reverse lights, or have ABS you need to do the speed sensor. All the same stuff you do on a 7M but the ECU will work. All of the transmission functions like shift points are performed through the Auto trannies own computer.
