I got ahold of a 89 supra with a rodknocked 7m-ge over the summer and after searching this and other threads I've settled on a 1jz swap. I'm looking for a front clip from a supra for ease of swapping but am having trouble finding one that comes with an auto tranny, although I was told the manuals are the hard ones to find. I'd rather not go through the hassle of swapping over to manual. So far my search has been fruitless maybe someone on here can point me in the right direction.:1zhelp:

Oh and here are a couple pics of the car. Paid $475 for the shell just need to get her running. Once i get an engine work on making her beautiful will begin

i think all mkiii supras with a 1jz came with a 5 speed. the soarers came with an auto but thats extra wiring... if you see any for sale that say its from a supra and has an auto its probably a soarer engine/harness. make sure you get an ignitor and map sensor also~

if you really wanted auto you could buy a 1jz from a supra and use a stand alone shift controller for the tranny and use your 7mge's tranny.... but remember the front clip will come with everything from the dash forward better clips come with more like the differential... so this means all of the pedals from a manual and hardlines ( i opted for a braided line myself) and you would need an auto to jz engine bellhousing ( they are so common i think most are sent off to be melted down for scrap metal heh )
