The bearing in my alternator is pinging lately and I plan to replace it this week if possible. Just need to know if anyone knows of an alternator that is a bolt on replacement. I checked out the cross reference sheet and it says that the alternator for a 1992-94 SC300 part # 27060-46010 is the same. If anyone has any info regarding the trueness of this info or has any info that would be fantastic. Thanks.

It's the same. When i swapped I put the alternator from my 2JZGE on my 1JZGTE because it's higher amp and the SC300 has ALOT of electrical draw with all it's gadgets.

On a Soarer 1JZGTE, all the 2JZGE SC300 accessories bolt right up and you can get 2JZGE things dime a dozen here in Orlando with all the 1JZ sc swaps that are taking place.

Speaking of which, I need a new battery. It's only doing 11.8 volts when the car is off :aigo:

the alternator doesn't need any modification so that the belt aligns properly...i had to get the pulley shaft on my 2jz power steering pump machined so that the belt lined up

aristo alterntors seem to be teh same as the 1js as well... but not that it helps much, haha..

Your so wrong. I just tried putting a MK4 TT alternator on my Aristo motor and need to know this asap.

On my aristo engine, it had the same exact plug as the 1j, and sc300 alternator not the mkiv tt... I think it was out of a 93 or 94 aristo..

Hey guys,

I got the SC300 alternator and I don't think it's the right one for the Aristo.

Can someone just verify for me which style connector it is for the Aristo 2J . . . may be walk out to the car and check.

Excuse the kindergarten drawing, my digi cam is MIA. On the LEFT is the round style connector from the SC300 alternator. On the right is what I believe is my Aristo harness has .. . I had to dig up/figure out what is was out of my 50 lbs of Aristo harnesses :D I remember have this harness on the motor at some point. I think it wraps around the back of the motor from the fuse box to the alternator.

It seems like hit or miss for sure. I am almost certain that mine is the one on the right. I wish I hadn't given them my stinkin core before I got the new one.

I really hate to go back for a third time. One good thing about autozone is that they have pics of the alternators so this time I will be sure.

Thanks guys, this forum seems to have a ton of helpful/sharing people.

I'm bringing this back, if it's cool.

I have a 1jz installed into an mx83 cressida and have been having alternator problems. I just checked the plug on my alternator and it appears to be the one drawn on the right; three pins, all flat.

From what i understand, the sc300 uses the one on the left. does this mean the sc300 alternator is not a plug and play unit for me?

Any suggestions as to what i can do b/c it's my DD.

Thanks
