Well found the thread here and tried to reply to it but got a gay message that this thread is too old to reply to, so I'm forced to create a new thread for an existing topic ...uughh!!!

Here is the original :
http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33956&page=3&highlight=1jz+2jz+electronics

My thoughts and input needed :

So reading through this, I can conclude that a 1JZ Harness and ECU can be used to run a 2JZGTE engine, aaaaand a 2JZGTE Harness and ECU ( Aristo? JDM map based ) can be used to run a 1JZ engine.

Anyone does the latter? I'm thinking of going either route but would prefer using the 2JZ harness as recently, the 1JZ ecus seem to have been crapping out a bit. And 2JZ ecus are easier to find as well.In addition, I have the 2JZ gte Field Harness and Emanage Blue wired into from Greddy already that I would like to use for tuning in my next swap .

Any thoughts????

Thnaks,
Moe.

Josh has mapped out the pin differences and we've tried it to troubleshoot his 1JZ issues.

Send me your email addy and I'll send it to you. Since it's his work, I don't want to publish it on the list for him yet (I'll make sure it's okay 1st).

you know all you had to do was click the little check box above the submit to submit to the thread right?

The harnesses are close enough to work, and if you have some way to tune it, it will work perfectly fine for your application. From what I remember from my conversion, the oil pressure sensor plug was different, as well as the water temp sensor for the gauge. Everything else was plug and play.

I have a full Aristo harness and ecu I'll sell you if you want :)

Kool. I can deal with the differences in those few plugs as they are fairly easy to replace/exchange.

I have an Emanage Blue with the Aristo Fields harness prewired from greddy for everything it can control :) so i will use that to control fuel.
Another reason I'm looking into this route is that i will install a 1 JZ possibly into my new Supra and then convert to a 1.5 JZ at the time of swap or sometime later. I sold my 2JZ Supra so i could get to work on this one :)

I sent you pm.

i had a problem using my 1jz harness on my 2jz.on a 1jz the harness goes through the upper plenum between runner's 3+4.the 2jz has a longer lower runner which all the wire's route through, but can't accomidate much between runner's 3+4.it's not a super big deal, but i had to un-wrap my harness to fix it.
the 2j set up is much better.you can take the upper plenum off without feeding wire's through it.so less work if swapping injector's or something.just figured i'd toss that out there.

Naw. Even contacted the previous owner to see if he had some gremlins too, so that maybe I could figure things out without MAJOR work.

Gonna put some time into it tonight and recheck the engine harness connections. After Josh came over, I don't get the check engine light anymore (tho EFI stays powered) after I remove the key.

Can you send me the info (pics/wire colors) for that speed sensor? I'll try to figure it out and send back.

Man, wonder what could be the problem on yours. I bet it is something so simple that it is getting overlooked.

For the speed sensor, I will get it in a day or two.Need to difg it out of my garage.

Pulled the harness halfway out last night... retrace, relabel, and resolder things tonight. We'll see.

Sent ya a link to the 1J-2J ECU pinout mapping.
