I was pulling my fuel rail to fix (what I suspect is) one or more seeping lower injector o-rings that's causing rough hot restarting (hard restart only after it sits for 1/2 hour, not usually any other time) when I found my cam sensors are leaking oil into the harness plugs. It's leaking through the sensor itself, and not where the o-ring is.
They were leaking before and I replaced them with new ones... but the leak is back after only 4000 miles. My warranty is up on the sensors (90 days).
Has anyone else had this same leak, and will it cause a problem other than the leak itself? As in, has it caused a misfire or hard starting for anyone?
I tested the sensor with a scope and the waveforms are fine (no dropouts or glitches), but I was just wondering what everyone else had been experiencing with this problem.
I'm just not sure if it's worth spending $200 on a pair of new sensors or if I should live with the slight leak. Especially if the new ones are going to leak again.
