Hey guys. Just installed my Profec B. Say there is a little boost leak, could this cause the car to sometime hesitate, and "kick" ? It does it in boost and out of boost, I x2 checked everything but that doesnt rule out a boost leak by any means. Can I stick a boost leak tester right on the intake y pipe and pressurize the system up? I really cant think of any reason why not.

The car was perfect before the installation of the boost controller so I did something along the lines.

For the no start. I routed the boost controller lines through my firewall where the ECU harness goes. After I had everything hooked up the car would crank crank crank, no fire. To make it fire I had to wiggle and shake around the wires at and around the ECU harness. After it starts up, all appears to be well except for this intermittent pop, kick and hesitation I have...

Is it connected? I unno.

Basically for the no-start aspect of things I am going to pull the codes tomorrow, see what is showing up and check the wiring from there... Any advice? Also a boost leak test tomorrow.

Thanks for your time guys.

Ok I have a code 12 now. Also a code 13, but I had that before hand. I believe code 12 is CPS related.

Sometimes the car starts without me wiggling the wires under the dash, most times it does not. When it does not I noticed that I have no RPM signal. When I wiggle the wires around the RPM signal kicks on and than motor finally starts.

Would someone be able to tell me which wires I should be looking for and testing under the dash here please. I found this pinout that I "think" is for my JZA70.

Any and all advice or comments are appreciated.

P.S When I was installing the boost controller lines I moved all the wiring away and accidentally unclipped it a little violently from one of its loom holders. I believe this quick jaring of the wires is what is causing this issue.

Thank you guys so much.

i dont know what the differences are in codes between 1j and 7m, but i have had very similar problems you describe.
i read a code 11, then 12, then nothing.

Anyways, to the point, what you should do is backtrack.
what style is your boost controller?
does the vacuum cable go straight to the gauge or does it go to some small chip that then sends it to the gauge via wiring?

Try and backstep your way out of it untill you find your problem.

I am 99.9% sure it is a wiring problem inside of the car. After I moved everything out of the way, there was no rpm signal. Than when I hit or wiggle around the wiring harnesses I get it back. I would just like to know which wires I should be looking at so it is not a total shot in the dark.

Thanks though.

look in the area that you are moving the wires to see if you see anything rubbing on metal or if any wires are exposed. Sounds like a harness problem.
