1J Cranks But Doesn't Fire

My 1J won't fire. It'll crank all day long, but it won't spark. And yes, the plugs are new. Any possible suggestions? I've already confirmed it's not the ECU because I ran my other 1J on it. All the fuses are good too.:1zhelp:

Check cam position sensors, and crank position sensor too.

Are you getting fuel? I know when I did my swap, I had the fuel wire power wire from the engine junction block mixed up. After I fixed it, it was good to go. See if you can hear the fuel pump priming.

I forgot to plug my fuel pump relay up. It would start, but it wouldn't stay running. Good luck.

This problem occured before I pulled my motor when it my motor was still in my 90. When I shut it down, it was running fine. Next time I went to start my car, the main fuse was blown. Replaced that, and now it won't fire.

check for spark and power at coils, check for fuel or try to start off carb clean, check injectors are firing with a noide light.

does yours use a maf or map sensor?

Yes, the 1J does use a MAP.

check your codes, if it is a code 14, its either the ecu, the ignitor or the wiring between. You said it isnt the ecu (guessing you tested a known good one). break out the multimeter and check the wiring between. If that doesnt do it its the ignitor (140 from napa)

The ignitor was the culprit. Swapped it with the ignitor from what is now Roberts white 87 1J. BTW, he'll post vid and pics of my new gay blue 87 soon.

I am currently having the problem with crank but no start - and I know that I in the same situation were I have no power to the fuel pump. I have already started the engine by jumping FP directly to the battery. But I cannot start up normally. What wires did you have mixed up? Is there a site were I can find wiring diagram? for 1j. I have done a jump connector for body connectors based on the info given on 1jzgte-us
