1G-GTE to 7MGE Swap?

My 1g has been giving me problems and finding parts for it is hard, very hard. Was having my starter motor worked on when i discovered my mechanic had a 7mge.

How favorable is this swap? Would i be able to bolt my twins from the 1g onto the 7m (for the time being) and how compatible are the mounts, is it a simple slide-in or will i have to make modifications to the engine bay? What of the tranny?

Its either i do this or have to opt for an FF (Levin BZ-G) :cry: coz the damn thing is messing up my finances.

May I ask what has gone wrong on your 1G? I'm seriously considering picking up a 1G as a daily in a week or two.

Anyway, on to your questions

The 1G twins won't be a bolt on affair. Not too sure on the mounts, but according to the link below, it's not a slide in match. If you've got a manual car, you should be able to use your current gearbox with a 7M bell housing.

The 1G > 7M conversion has been done, (http://mkiiisupra.net/bbs/showthread.php?t=19442), but I personally wouldn't do it, particularly in the only other option is to bolt in an NA motor.

Dont do it! The ge really is not a power house. Go with the 7mgte or 1j-gte. Either are better options in my opinion.
