Okay so I have the chance to purchase a 240sx hatchback, with an srt20DET motor with some mods to it like HKS intake system, FMIC,rebuilt/upgraded turbo, can't remember the type again, I think T25? It's a red top motor with 60k miles with a new head and such. Looks very clean, has a new tranny 5 speed with clutch.

Has full coilovers front & rear, 3 inch exhaust, no muffler but that's an easy fix haha Interior was gutted in the rear because they said it was going to be a drift car, but I might keep it like that or make it have a rear to drive with.

I thinking of scooping it up and keeping my supra as my daily driver and using this as a racer or resale.

Opinions? I'll get some pics after I buy it but body wise it's in great shape from what I saw.

2000k is what I'm paying.

yeah he told me he has 5k but he needs it gone because of financial troubles and new changes in his life.. He has a 4 month old kid now so that might have something to do with it. He started at 3500 but I worked him down some

check the frame rails, the strut towers and the frame right behind the front wheels .... thats where they like to rust... and 2k is worth it...

Even if the frame was rusted, id still pick it up and throw the drivetrain and extra's in a clean 240 shell that can be had for ~$1000

Worth every penny, in my book. But then again i do have an sr20'ed car sittin in my garage....:)

is the KA the stock motor? I've been hearing about those being turbo'd making good power

Yes the KA is the stock motor. Check out KA-T.org. All you will ever need to know is there. The KA is an infinitely better motor. My buddy has a stock single cam KA with a 50trim t3/t04e generic turbo. On 14 psi he went 12.5@108mph. I've never ever heard of a SR on 14 psi going 12.5. Hell I've never heard of them going 13.5 on 14 psi.

People who think that the KA is just a stupid truck motor are the ignorant ones.
Don't believe the SR hype.

That would be the most ignorant thing to do. Do not swap a SR for a KA....

Thats like taking out a 1jz for a 7m....

I'd do it in a heartbeat! Selling the 1JZ would fund a big chunk of my forged 7M build.

Hell, I got rid of a 2J while building my 7M. ;)

As to the OP - the KA is a pretty stout motor. We've got a local guy making 500+rwhp on a KA-T.

hmmm interesting... I've heard and read of SR's making upwards of 600hp but heck maybe I'll sell the motor later on and go with an LS1 6 speed swap for REAL fun lol

Now you are thinking!!!!!!
The SR's can make power. My point is that if you do a set group of mods to a SR and a KA the KA will always make more power.
But definitely screw the 4 banger shit. V8 FTW
