1988 turbo supra

hi there i was wondeing if anyone knew why my supra is burning gas it only getting 10 miles per gal and smokes black bad when i am driving it i can run the car up on rpms and then the boost starts in but only in 1st gear in any other gears when the boost kicks in the car starts to like buck like a bull like it is getting choked out or something if have any ideas please help thanks

Have you checked for boost leaks?

I second the boost leak theory! If you don't know how to check for them...do a search! There should be plenty of threads.

well i got the code i hope it blink 5 then 1 so think it is 51 so let me know what you think and thanks for your help and yes it is boggin down but only when you go to get on it,it start to like choke itself

could be plugs I had the same thing happen I swapped out shitty E3s for some alright bosch platniums solved it right up, but I would recommend the NGK irdiums or densos or something if it happens to be a plug problem.

Ive got my money on boost leak.
