i bought an 88 supra and the car wasnt very well taken care of. the guy put a push to start button and now when i go to kill the power the car doesnt turn off just stays on and the lights on the dash light up like theres a wiring issue. 2nd: the car idles high around 1100 RPMs. 3rd: it throws blue smoke... a lot. when im driving the car does just fine but when i go to floor it around 4500 RPMs the car boggles a lot. i have a brand AFM sensor coming in and i have fixed all possible vacuum leaks. engine light is on but i do not know how to check the codes (tried paper clip method on T and E1 but it wouldnt give me any codes). please i would like to fix the car.

When do you notice the blue smoke? Idle, cruising, accelerating, decelerating, all the time?
PO was probably an electrical genius and disconnected the check engine light because it annoyed him. I'm an electrical dummy, so I couldn't help you in that department.

Compression or leak down test can rule out worn piston rings. Changing valve stem seals isn't rocket science either.
I wouldn't go and sell it right away.
While you're waiting for your new AFM, I would take off all of the intercooler piping and inspect those for any cracks, tears, rips, etc.
