1988 tail lights

Hey everyone!
I have new tail lights for my 1988 supra turbo and I am having trouble getting the old ones off. There are some screws I can not reach as they are hiding under the piece that the targa clips are attached to. If I could figure out how to get these pieces off I could reach the tail lights. Any ideas?

You're talking about the ones all the way in the rear, yes?

The covers just snap off, and then you have 2 large philips head screws staring at you
