I just got done with and engine rebuild but i haven't done the turbo et on my 7m-gte. I know the turbo is shot and leaking oil out the exhaust, but it looks to me that its leaking on the intake side. I pulled my intake back off and the lower intake is coated in oil.

Is it the turbo causing this or something else?
With oil coming in the intake would that cause it to idle poorly?

Also can some one explain a egr valve or give me a link?

Probably find the IC is half full of oil from the old motor.

Pull it off block one pipe and pour some gas in cover the other pipe and give it a shake then drain repeat a few times till the gas comes out clean.

It can't help idle... bigger danger is you give it a boot into boost and it sucks in enough oil to dilute the gas in the motor drops the octane and you detonate
