I've been looking at 15" wheels recently. Spun steel wheels are not that much heavier than aluminum. I've seen some 15x10 wheels weighing in at only 21lbs, which is not bad at all. The 15" rim will let me run a tire with a larger sidewall. Most good times seem to come in 26"diameter (or 50 sidewall). I know I've seen a few guys around here with 15" wheels. If those guys with 15s could post pics and give their opinions on 15x10 vs 17x10 I'd appreciate.

Also, I'm not really interested in looks, just functionality so please don't bring up the fact that 15s don't look good.

Bowser,

I just started a thread like this, sorry man. I have MK4TT rims and with Nitto Drag radials, the rims are 17x9.5 and the tires are 275/40/17 I can get consistant 1.9xx 60' times but that is about it. I only have about 375rwhp right now, but this weekend I get to turn up the boost with a bigger ic and hardpipes. I really want to get a bigger sidewall aswell so I can grip better and that's why I was thinking the 275/50/16, the 275/60/15 is 28"tall and a smaller contact patch but I don't think they would fit.

I don't like the steel wheels, I've seen many bent at the track, that's why I want the prostars or draglites.

a 15" will not clear the front brakes. It will clear the rears though, and hey, that's your power wheels anyways :)

Where are you getting these? I'm interested in a pair of 15x10s for the back of my supre myself.

all you need is a spacer on the front to run 15's.

and you dont have to worry about me saying they would look bad. id put 15's on my car before id put 19's or stretched tires.

26" or 27" would work well. the taller the sidewall you can fit on there the better.
