It's a bitch photographing a black car that is this shiny. With the flash, it just reflects it back and blinds you. Without it, it's hard to keep the camera steady enough so the long exposure doesn't blur the photo.

These really don't do it justice, in person it's pretty damned impressive, if I do say so myself.

Looks damn good but take it out and get a good scenic pic in the sunshine.

It's been threatening rain all day... The rain gods, they know when I do stuff like this... :biglaugh:

I remember what the Zaino products did for (can't remember his name now, red car from California) and I bought some after seeing his pictures. I don't have the patience to spend six hours on my car though.

Looks good Mike.....................

You putting an orbital buffer on the paint.

Six hours of elbow grease /= orbital buffer

Correct, this is all by hand. I'm not going to use a power tool on black paint that is that old. It's been through enough.

Nice Garage. ;)

It's a complete mess at the moment, but it fits 3 cars. :icon_bigg

Got any engine bay detailing tips. :)

#1 - don't let it get dirty to start with. It's a lot easier to keep one clean than it is to clean it.

I want my hoses to look new because they are. lol

An old car show trick is WD-40 on a rag - it will make rubber hoses look new - and it does not degrade hoses or wire insulation.

It's Matt. You should see his new toys.

Looks great. I don't know if I could spend 6 hours non stop with cleaning the car. It'll be total of 6 hours of washing, waxing and drinking. lol

Wow, that looks incredible! I've been wanting to do the same thing to my M3, but I'm afraid of screwing up the paint with improper clay-bar technique. :( (it's black, and needs a clay really bad!)

I'd love to see a photoshoot of that MKIV, it's gorgeous!
