The time has come to make a build thread. The goal for the car is to make a somewhat reliable summer time toy that will be used for the street and the strip. My current goal is to break into the 12's but I am sure it won't last very long.
Here is a little history about my car. I purchased a 1991 JZA70 from a guy in Calgary who imported it in the Fall of 2006. The car came basically stock from Japan with around 110,000kms. The previous owned added an HKS Intake, HKS Intercooler with Hardpipes, HKS downpipe with full 3inch Exhaust and new rubber. I received the car at the end of July and drove it until the end of August where it left me stranded. The car just died in the middle of the intersection so I thought it was time to park it for the winter(2007).

Spring time(2008) soon came and I realized the ECU was the culprit. The ECU was deemed non repairable so I made the decision to go full-standalone. Over the past few months I have been collecting parts and adding them as they come in. Here is what I have added to the car so far:
-New Balljoints and Tierods
-Front and Rear Strut tower bars
-Apex'i AVCR
-New shifter seat and socket
-Boost, Oil Pressure and Water Temp Gauges
-Stinger Standalone EMS with Bosch Wideband Sensor
-Blitz Turbo Timer
-Lots of basic maintenance
-Front Bumper Repainted ( Original Paint was flaking off after driving in the rain  )
-Stance GR+ Coilovers
-440cc Injectors (Only for the stock twins
-Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
-Bel STi Radar Detector

I drove the car for around 3 months this summer and just finished parking her a couple weeks ago. I never had a chance to get the car dynoed but I had it tuned to 16psi on the stock twins. Ever since day 1 of owning the car the stock twins have been smoking once the car warmed up. I knew that one day the stock twins would fail so I have been looking into a single turbo setup.

I found a single turbo setup from a local Supra owner and just picked it up about a month ago.

Here is the new setup

-JUN 264 intake cam
-JUN 272 exhaust cam
-JUN cam gears
-Apexi IHI C7 turbo
-Trust Manifold
-Greddy Wastegate
-ARC intercooler
-HKS SSQV
-Dual Feed fuel rail
-Aeromotive FPR with full stainless steel fuel lines back to the fuel tank
-Blitz 850cc injectors
-Brand new HPF Feramic single plate clutch
-Walbro in tank pump and a Walbro inline pump

Goal is for 500whp on pump gas.

Also with the deal I got a 94 1JZ Chaser motor with 40,000km's, ecu, ignitor, map sensor, chassis harness and R154. So pretty much I have another complete 1JZ swap.

The plan over the winter is to replace the seals, timing belt components and water pump. I also want to take the motor completely apart and inspect all the clearances. Then when spring comes along take the 1JZ with 130,000kms out of my current Supra and swap in the new setup.

Now I just need to find a project for another 1JZ swap!

Looking good man. Im jealous wish i could get a right hand drive here in the states. What guages are those? what company? I like the black out look. I was thinking guages there where u put them or make a bracket and put them in the ash tray area.

Need a project for the 1JZ, sell it to me :naughty: with the tranny so i can convert my to a manual!!!!!!

The gauges are boost, water temp and oil pressure and they are the Premium series by Prosport.

Looks nice!
Are you on Alberta Supra Club?

Still have the license plate? It would be sweet if you swapped in a 3-73 diff to match :)

Yes I am on the Alberta Supra club and I have the same screen name. I still got the license plate and plan to replace the rear end if it breaks. I have no idea what rear end is in it as of yet...

Well guys with the school semester finally starting to get under wraps it looks like I will have some time to work on the motor. I think I have compiled the list of everything that needs to be ordered and will order that during the Christmas break. I also plan on taking apart the valve covers and intake for paint. Let the build begin!

I guess my thread needs some sort of update doesn't it. Not much has happened since school has been crazy busy but it happened to be nice out today so I started to get some things done. I didn't get much but its a start at least. I removed the entire harness and got the intake manifold and valve covers off. I am going to be polishing these in my spare time.

As it sits I will be order my parts to finish off the motor within the next few weeks. I am going to replace all the seals and make sure all the clearances are good. I am also going to give the motor a good bath. I am very excited to see what this turbo and cams are going to feel like.

Here are some pictures.

Well a quick update for everyone. I took off the valve covers, intake and turbo compressor cover. In my spare time I will be polishing these items. I will post pictures as the pieces start to shine so to speak.
