First and foremost I would like to thank Jeff and The Jawsgear Staff for re-making and re-shipping my part promptly and having it at my door before 9am :bigthumb:

Now on to the part.I can not comment on the looks or craftsmanship, because i never physically touched the box and part.My friend that did the install said it "looked impressive."

Once i got to the car i was able to look it over(dont know what im looking at) and take a test drive around the block to get an "initial feeling". She started and sound great as usual. I had to back out of the garage down the drive way,and the first thing i noticed was how much less of an effort to start backing up the was.The car felt nice and smooth while in reverse. Taking off in first, once out of the driveway, was much more gracefull. The clutch seemed to engage slightly smoother, and once some real throttle was added the car reved smoothly to 2k,before i gave it a nice smooth shift into second. It felt great.I turned around gave it a little more gas and the rpms felt nice and smooth between the shifts.

My first impression at highway speeds was the car feels smoother going into the upper rpm range, less effort for it to build the revs. Once i sustaned a speed of 70 it felt almost as smooth as the old stocker, before it trashed itself. Downshift was a different story. The weight of the old unit helped slow the car down quite significantly. With this lighter unit i had to go down an extra gear as opposed with the stocker i could just shift down once.

My overall impression is i got exactly what i payed for. Im completly happy with the unit thus far, and once i get more miles on the car ill update this thread again with more thoughts. My butt dyno tells me i didnt gain any more power than i already had but i can reach my power band much more quickly, and once in it, the power is nice and smooth alway to redline. This really seemed to "wake the car up". My previous mods are FIPK and catback exhaust.I would definetly recomend the light weight 1 peice aluminum d/s for your n/a, you wont be sorry.

Any questions feel free to ask, also i forgot to mention the install went flawlessly, my friend reported no issues with the install, he said he bolted it right up.:bigthumb:

...i think we all are. cheap as in we constantly have to buy stuff for these dam cars ;p

'hmm should eat this month or buy an Al drive shaft...'

lol, i chose not to eat this month. But yes these cars will nickle and dime you to death, thats why i like when big shit breaks, makes life simple. 1 part 1 problem, instead of trying 4 different parts to fix one problem.(gotta love trouble shooting)

it really sucks when you have the supra and something else sucking money away. i just dropped an ohlins rear shock into my motorcycle. the shock costs more than my complete supra brake kit :1zhelp:

Guys, a 1 piece is worth it. Aluminum is what I have also for the R154.

When I installed mine on my turbo, oh my goodness. It felt like the back rear of the car was sinking more, and I could actually FEEL the tires holding on. The stock driveshaft did NOT have that effect on the car.

I wish I could have dynoed the difference to see what exactly happened. Not to say it makes more power on the dyno, but I definately felt it change the attitude of my car. It's something you will notice.

The Jawsgear unit absolutely is something to look at. It's awesome.

I wish I could have a new aluminum driveshaft. Mine is fine but I would like an aluminum one. Does anyone make one out of carbon fiber?

I read the thread on SF and people say the difference between Steel/Alum is 2-4 lbs. With this is mind, how heavy is the stock driveshaft and how heavy is the Alum Driveshaft? I think I read somewhere that the stock d/s is 32 lbs, but I'm not sure.

shipping weight was 13lbs, is what ups said, so u figure theres is about a pound or so of box and packing material, so i say its about 12lbs

isnt the weight mostly lost when you pull the bearing? dont need it with the 1 piece.

still loosing 2-4lbs off the actual shaft is decent. anything to reduce sprung weight goes along ways.
