The mk4 started to use euro style stuff and design like differential vs subframe mounts/bushings.
The mk3 is more analog, still it is the same as quite as the mk4 during it's operation.
The mk3 diff is better secured on the A70 subframe than the mk4 is. The mk3 has 6 bolts/studs secure...
Hello everyone! It's been a while..
I just wanna say that our mk3 community is very lucky and blessed that has a guy like " Piratetip " who is very experienced in Toyota Supra differentials
and one of the best out there. I would only trust him in building a proper performance...
Yeah, I got some pictures, but I was in a hurry after installation and forgot to take the final shots.
No worries, in 500 miles I will go again to the shop and lift the car for the diff oil change based on the brake-in instructions.
But here are some pictures...
My oem 1990 LSD Diff 3.7...
Update! Car is running real nice with no issues after the V160 swap. All look good and smooth.
Haven't had time to install the 3.5 diff, but I will soon.
Will have to make a video soon for the community...
According to the TSRM and Cygnusx1 the LOW pressure port is located on the 7M compressor manifold isn't it?
And the HIGH pressure port is on the hard line near the dryer/condenser...
Hey... Here is very deep into summer days with very hot temps! I was away from town.
I don't know if I am going to update before summer ends. Now to be honest I am trying to fix something to my A/C system.
I might hit you a PM to ask about something bro.
YEAH....this was a major HIT from...
Can somebody help me on that :
I have a 2JZ swap. The 2JZ already has an R134 compressor on..., so the car's A/C system is left with only one charging port which is located on the hard line that is located on the right side of the condenser , since the other port was originally on the 7M...
The oem copper/brass were on the 1986-1988 mk3 models only I think...I always thought they were better than the newer style ones 89-92 and couldn't understand why Toyota did that change on the facelift model. They supposed to improve the parts/units not to downgrade, not to mention the aluminum...
Hello everybody...
It may look that some oem factory parts don't do much or don't play a major role in a properly operating automotive system such as the coolant system of a car.
In our case we do want to view the issue that JZ (1jz or 2jz) swaps takes a lot of space and limits the radiator...
Well,some update...
I drive the car and everything works great. Still with the 3.7 rear diff gear, haven't got the time to swap the upgraded 3.5 diff...but soon it will happen.
Yeah... it's something that I have in mind. Thankfully my Supra is a 1990 model and has the top oem bracing bars.
But yes, a gusset subframe is a good idea...and in general a nice reinforcement !
Yeap....hahaha. Well nothing to worry about. 5-6 years ago when I was swapping diffs one bolt from the right diff mount wouldn't unbolt and spinning like crazy.
The hexagon nut inside the subframe that is factory welded to the frame come loose...and I create a service hole in the subframe to...
