See I have also been wondering this as I'm building a 1j currently and will be shooting for over 1000 on a 2.5 bottom end. I can not find one record of a 1j without a 2j block making over 1000. I understand it's more difficult but to think no one has done it? Seems odd

Anybody have any experience with this turbo? Turbonetics tc76 with a .96 a/r. I'm planning on using this on my 1jz but I keep hearing that it starts choking after like 16ish psi. Any insight would be great. Thanks.
Yeah when i get off work tonight im going to close the gap to around .026-.028. And yeah but ill check again when i regap the plugs. Yeah it seems like it runs fine until i try to go half throttle or more then it just kinda bogs and really falls on its face when i start getting into the + side...

Ended up Going through the harness again. I found the IGF wire that was ran to the wrong pin on the ecu. Also I had a Power issue for some reason at the efi main relay but all is well now and it runs. Has the Typical Hesitation/miss around 4k rpms but i believe this is due to the sta/nsw wires...
Yeah they are still on my phone though. I will try to upload them when i get home from work.. open turbo at the moment sounds amazing lol. Still have a few odds and ends to tie up but i moved it in the driveway(After i chopped away all the roots it had grown... jk)
Generally a surging idle like that comes from a large air leak. What were you doing prior to this problem. And what did you have apart when you "Put everything back together?".
