Well....this is where I start with the excuses. It stormed and rained HARD the last 2 days after work so I couldn't have sprayed if I wanted to anyway.
Yesterday ......I was going to mask and prep, etc. Then I started nit picking over my work again:3d_frown: :1zhelp: The left rear 1/4 had a...
I'll get the before pic tomorrow. I will probably cover the floor and seal up the "booth"...lol....after work tomorrow. Plus mask off the windows, and the undercarriage, exh, hang all the misc parts for spraying, etc.....then shoot primer tuesday.
And if I wake up and my nuts are missing...
Finally got everything where I want it, and spent 3 hours cleaning up the garage tonight. I'll snap a pic before the primer hits it tomorrow......finally. I pray it doesn't look like shit when the red goes on.
BAH, haven't posted pics because it's nothing to look at. Shooting for primer on July 4th. I have a body guy coming over to work with me Tuesday:) If we get it finished, I'll wash the car and garage tues night and shoot it weds (crossing fingers)
I did get a new hatch yesterday....
Looking damn good Scott!!!! I wish I was making progress quicker like you. This body stuff is killing me, which is why I don't get on here much, I'm spending my time slaving away in the garage. I can't wait to see yours freshly painted in front of the cross:)
You live a Ramen noodle lifestyle if you book 8 hours a day as a tech. Average t- belts where I've worked pay 3.5-5 hours, but they don't charge full labor rate. V8's are more involved, and if you really want to see techs scatter like cockroaches .....bring an MR2 turbo in for a t-belt.
They were ripping people off bad, and they never answered the phone. I never took a chance after all the shit I heard, I searched a long time, then bought all my body stuff from oneandgone when he tore down his MK3. I plan on ditching the fogs in favor of some ventilation eventually.
Maxx Evo, some like it , some don't, I like it better than the other versions, it has a bigger I/C opening. Harder to find though, they're out of business.
Thanks s8795, and thanks Ryan, I've been on here so little lately I never even saw that! I'm not gonna pay to ship a hatch, I'll dig one up locally. And to think several times I sent good hatches on parts cars to the boneyard because I couldn't get rid of them! maybe I will just buy some Lexan:)
I am using HVLP guns, they still take a good amount of cfm's, but I got that covered now. I'm HOPING to have everything nearly ready for primer next weekend. I'm going back out now to cover the rear hatch with plastic so I can get back at it:)
Well, body work = frustration for me. 2 weekends ago my air compressor just couldn't keep up with a DA and I dont want to have problems when I start spraying. So.....last weekend I got a big compressor and spent the weekend runnning 220v to the garage, and installed the comp. This weekend I was...
