I'm a big fan of green cars... dunno why just always liked the green ones. The darker the green the better for me, the grey/green your buddy did really looks awesome and also great story behind the making of the car!
Been awhile since I took any pics so here we go!
Stock restricted-to-all-hell-bo:
...and I think I may have found my exhaust leak. Wrong size gasket anyone?
Here is my DP, not for certain but I think this is after market.
And here's some new coolant piping eye candy!
Correct me...
Alright made the decision to get the turbo elbow from ebay. Looks pretty solid and should be a bolt on deal, quick and easy just the way I like it...
While I've got that apart though I will be looking for an elusive exhaust leak that's been with the car since I bought it a little over a year...
I think the IC and piping deserve a little more research on my end so I'll put that on the back burner for now and just focus on the elbow. Just got home from a drive in the supra and it's running flawlessly! Can't wait to get some gauges installed and play around with the tuning! So many...
Thanks for the advice and link! The kit that I was looking at did indeed have the rolled ends on the tubing pictured but who knows until you actually get it in the mail right?
Thanks, the ebay material is supposed to be 2 millimeters thick and if I'm only pushing 18psi max that should be sufficient right or am I missing something? I can see if I was going to build the engine for 450+ hp then I'd definitely go with the DM setup.
Yes the DP and exhaust are both...
I agree with Nashman, if you plan on welding any aluminum you'll want the 220, which sounds like what you might be thinking anyway. Good luck with what ever you decide.
I'm liking the silicone hoses so far and will probably end up replacing all the rest of the coolant hoses at some point but for now only these were leaking.
Speaking of ebay... I was looking at a few items there and came across an intercooler kit with piping and a BOV for around $200 and then...
Small update, got some heater coolant hoses installed and it was pretty much what I expected. PITA, especially getting the old return hose off. I still have one hose that I want to swap for a new silicone hose that's leaking towards the rear of the engine on the passenger side. I tightened up...
Cannot wait to see those beauties on that engine! Any particular reason you decided to go black on the manifold? Just curious if it was a personal taste or if there was an underlying mechanical advantage to the black powder coat.
Every time I visit your build thread I seriously drool over...
I won't lie, I may have drooled over your build threat a few times and gotten some ideas from what you had already done. That being said, I don't plan on rebuilding the engine with your immaculate attention to detail (soooo jelly) but the other things that you've done with your car give me...
Been a couple days since I updated. Ordered a couple things this week... Yellow poly bushings from Ronnie K, a Maxgrip #1 from Weir performance for my LSD and need to order some diff seals now for my diff rebuild. Looks like my coolant hoses for the heater core will be here monday and then...
There are 110v welders out there that will plug right into your typical wall sockets and work for just about anything you might want to do as far as your car goes, you'll just have to watch the duty cycle of the machine you get. (usually the duty cycle of the 110v welders are 10-30/100)...
Let me know if you need any pointers when you start, I've been doing it for the past 11 years for a living and would seem I still have a job so I must be dewing it rite!
Ordered the Mishimoto hose set, hopefully they'll be here by the weekend and... aww crap sister's coming to town this weekend! I'll have to wait until next week to start the fun of swapping out the heater hoses...
