I will get in touch with him this weekend. I have seen your car and they did do a good job. Was it a complete color change? What was the cost on it? Or was it done by the PO?
Any pics of said work? I am quite sure it something that could be done on my own, but if I am going to DIY this, I want to know that the stuff I'm going to be using is the same type of stuff the shops use. Plus I want to make sure that even if I do it the correct way that this stuff is going to...
I don't have a garage. Just a carport. Unfortunately, I can't do it in there since the wife's sunroof leaks. So everytime it rains, it HAS to be under there.
Damn good point on that one. Main problem with those type of places is the wait time. I know with a paint job there is no such thing as a good job that is rushed. But I don't want to have a month with no car.
We intend on doing most of the prep work ourselves. Removing trim, bumpers, lights, anything to help the bodyshop reduce the price. The car will be hauled there so pretty much they will just need to pull dents, prime and paint. Then wet sand and buff.
I understand that. But I'm not having a Lambo painted here. This is a 22 year old car. I want it done right but there is no way that I will pay $5k. My wife would shoot me....then have me revived then shoot me again.
First off....WELCOME!!!
Second....Pics of the car when you got it. I need a good laugh with the Pontiac wheels, and all the stickers. Didn't the PO know that this is a Toyota and not a Honda? Stickers don't make HP!
Don't worry about getting that info. If he quoted you for $5k with just a little body work, that is insanely high. I got quoted at around $1500 for my paint and all of the supplies through House Of Kolor. That would mean he would be getting $3500 just to pull a few really small dents, paint, and...
There are no specialty shops around here. This is a military town, which means everything is way over priced and not worth the money you spent on it. Which is why I am willing to travel.
as the title says, we are looking for a reliable paint shop to repaint this new MK3. I would like to keep it within a 4hr drive of Clarksville TN. So if you have had a car painted recently and can tell nothing but good stories about the shop, as long as it is within that driving window then I am...
The 7M sounds like any other motor, the exhaust is always what makes them sound so mean. I know because I was running a 7MGTE with a T70 hooked up to a 3" Driftmotion DP and finally a Blitz NuR Spec. I loved it. More then any other engine in the world. But now after driving the 2J around for a...
I'm used to the power of the 7MGTE and sitting behind this power house 2J is amazing for me. When I first got my 7MGTE with the T70 on it, it made me shake a bit when I got on it and ran high boost. This 2J has a 67 trim on it and running just a little boost testing it made me understand...
So I got this 2JZ MK3 from another member on here for a damn good price, and he brought it from Carma Performance....No don't worry, Carma didn't touch it. Car was beyond pig rich. Me and a friend took 2 days of wiring checking, $13 in spark plugs ( cheap ones to trouble shoot with ) and...
