I wouldnt go with only 5 days to use up. Remember that it takes practically a full day to get there and a day to get back. That doesnt leave you much time to do anything there.

Pretty much yes. Uncompressed video and audio will take up tons of space. Until you compress it, it will be huge. This is why I bought a HDD camcorder..it does compression into mpg on board and keeps the files down to a smaller size.
