Huh? He asked a question, try reading the post directly above my response. I just gave him my opinion based on his question.

No prep work here...hence the slight rusting. When it arrived from SP I bought some high temp paint and hit it. I definitely will get it done properly the next time i pull the turbo. I mainly did it to help keep the rust down and to see how the color would look with the other blue mods.

If the 7m is still strong why not keep it? It's a great platform IMO. Make sure the head is torqued down good, fix your wiring problems, 3" DP and exhaust, intake,safc or similar, and one of drjonez's MBC's and boost 10-12psi on stock setup. I love my 7m and see no reason to go 1j/2j. Just...

IMO it gets too hot too fast. It doesn't hold at the recommended baking temp for the recommended length of time. I cooked mine at 5 minute intervals and my EGT was going way above the recommended baking temp.

Heh, I did mine this way. The paint was rated to 1800 I think. It worked, kinda. Up close you can see it bubbled a bit. Nothing has peeled, but it is definitely not how I would do it again. here's a couple pics of my sp61gt using that method. And yes...it smelled funny for the first day or so.

Well, adding to the list of mods a cusco catch can, dual efans and control, new silicone rad hoses, a Mocal oil thermostat, CM Spin-on 6.25" oil filter (relocated), B&M 10"x11"x1.5" aluminum oil cooler, and SS lines and fittings wherever possible. Photos coming soon... -I have to thank JDUB...

Nice car! Looks very clean. +1 on going turbo! Don't cut ANY corners when fixing your BHG or it will happen again. Make sure you order the HG AFTER machining the deck and head to get the right thickness.
