Ok, so I tried to do too much in one day and it has me stressed. I went shopping this morning, bought a battery, oil, transmission fluid, powersteering fluid, and some hose for the oil cooler. First I got the oil cooler hooked up. Let me say that's not as easy as it may seem. It was a bitch...
That's true. But will I have plenty of time to work out all the bugs I know I'll have and will I have the money to fix 'em. It also needs tires, struts, and an exhaust.
There'll be no "one upping" me in my own thread Linc:icon_razz
I wore latex gloves most of the day so that saved me especially when I was putting the tranny mount back on.
I spent nearly two grand on my engine to have it done right. New Toyota GTE oil pump, new pistons, cleavites, machined block/head with Titan MS MHG. I'm not looking to go over 300 hp either but I wanted a reliable platform just in case I do.:naughty:
Well, let's see. I've had an eventful day. I took Scott's advice about the motor mounts and it worked. I got that beeeotch in there. And may I add, All BY MYSELF. Zero help. I had to manhandle it a little but it's in there.
I accomplished this today.
Put transmission mount back on...
That is my plan for tomorrow, although I don't think I'll have to pull the motor back out. I'll just jack it up some more. I was also going to stop and look at getting a load leveler too. The motor came right out no problems, it's just being a bitch now.
Already did most of what you said. I will do that with the mounts tomorrow.
Did it!:icon_bigg Didn't work. You know one of the problems I'm having also is the chain where it hooks on that hook at the back of the head. It keeps butting up against the firewall. I'll get it figured out...
Such a great build. I have some questions. How do you do the wiring from the ecu to the instrument panel so that all the gauges work. Is there a lot of work in doing that?
Well to be even better I walked outside half naked and snapped a couple of pics. Maybe I can earn a couple of happy dances. I'm also in a much better mood. Hot bath in the jet tub works wonders.
GTE engine hanging from chain inside engine bay. Can't get those mo fo mounts to line up...
Well after nearly 16 years of marriage it's cheaper to keep her. :biglaugh:
Well today I got a call from Dustin, my douchebag friend and he spent a good ten minutes apologizing and groveling. He apparantely had a bad day too....wtf ever, he still should have called. I'm over it but I'll...
I'm afraid I'd be a little out of the way but I would always appreciate the help. Just CALL if you can't make it.:icon_razz
I'm still in a pretty shitty mood over my friend letting me down....again. That's ok though, he'll need help again sometime and I was the ONLY person who would ever drive...
What color is it exactly? I can't tell because of the light but it seems to look ok. Maybe a little too much metallic flake, maybe. I need more pictures. I'm not dogging it though. It's better than red, he he.
I just found this thread and all I've got to say is Holy Crap!!! I can't believe the work yall have done. I will subscribe to this for sure! I like the new wheels much better. The others looked too "bling bling". The new ones look good with the yellow. My dad is a retired body man and...
