My engine revs up and down when ever I reach about 20 mph, I have to give it more gas to make it stop. I just put in a new engine and now I am getting a code 31 which is the Air Flow Meter. My question is this, will the air flow meter cause such a problem? If not, what can cause this?

Bought a 87 Supra Turbo 1 month ago, and have not been able to drive it since I got the damn car. Since I got it, it blew the coolant all over the engine and the car overheated and the car shut off on me. Turns out the thermostat housing was not placed properly only had one screw holding...
