Not only is it a driver race but don't forget about gearing too. There could be two identical supras in everyway but one may have 4.30 gears and the other 3.73s. In the quarter mile the Supra with the 4.30 gears is most likely going to be quite a bit faster than the one with higher gears.
its on a 88 and the only fuse i found with the cruise control was a 15amp in the cruise ecu or something like that. I don't think I'll have a problem with it that wire doesn't carry much current.
So I wired up my Innovate LC1 and I mounted my LED and Calibration button on to the switch panel for foglights, cruise, and rear defrost. Since I eliminated cruise I looked for a switched 12v on the cruise plug to tap into for the LC1. Everything works but my question is, is there a fuse for...
I'm pretty sure the VSV doesn't have anything to do with timing advance that has to do with the CPS and the RPM's of the engine. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=FI&P=23 Look at that for directions on checking codes.
Also where you from in WI?
Even at 76000 miles thats quite a bit of miles for a 7m, so in reality if you want it to be reliable especially shooting for those figures you should rebuild the engine anyways. So you might as well buy one of the turbo supras in your area and just fix a bhg on the turbo engine and get that...
I don't know if its up on the boards or not anymore but I believe Shaeff has a nice how to on a knock sensor rewire. I actually printed it off a couple years ago to do one on my old 87 and it worked awesome. Does take some soldering skills and electrical know how.
I know alot of people do it but in my opinion I think its a sin. LOL Yeah you can build horsepower cheap out of a small block chevy but if you want to shoot for those power goals why not just slowly build a 2J or something. I won't lie I love Chevy small blocks but I don't think they belong in...
Don't put an LS1 in a Supra, I'll slap you in the face. If you do really want a V8 do a 1uz-fe swap. But it's your car do what ever floats your boat. IMO I don't think you should ruin a Supra by putting an engine from another manufacturer in it let alone a domestic one.
Wouldn't that make sense though? Why would they put english on a part that is staying in Japan? Well if they truly do have english on them is the lettering color different than the USDM ones?
But think about this the JDM ECU's were going into Japanese cars. All the "JDM ECU's" I see on EBAY have English written on them. I'm pretty sure I seen a pic of an actual JDM one and where its supposed to say Engine Control it was all in Japanese characters. I think those people know what they...
Is there a way to maintain the USDM ECU and use a piggyback while eliminating EGR with no problems?

Where did you find you're JDM ECU?
Was wondering if you need to run race gas using a JDM ECU? Reason being is because in Japan their Premium Fuel is 98 octane. Or do you guys run 93 octane with no knocking or detonation?
I have built many engines and have all the correct tools to do so, and I am aware that the GE has higher compression that is why I'll be putting Turbo pistons in it. I still am going to take my time and check everything I wasn't just going to slap it together. If anything needs machining I will...
I'm not arguing with you just trying to understand. But now I understand what you're saying chill out. I will have the crank ground and polished and I will order new squirter bolts. Thanks for your insight.
Well why if my GE rotating assembly is already good and I put it in the GTE block why would it all of a sudden not be good with just the addition of new bearings? Perhaps you can explain a little more.
Yeah I was going to have it honed, and replace the oil pump. as for the crank if the journals look good and aren't out of round which i don't think they'll be I'm just going to run it. Unless its fairly inexpensive at my machine shop to have them just polish the journals. I will also be getting...
