alright. got me a boost gauge today, $20 @ harbour freight FTW!!!!
indicated 12psi when fuel cut hit. soooooo, im guessing boost leak is out of question ehh???
Seeing these other claims of higher boost with the DDP, Im guessing the WG just cant keep up with the exhaust flow???
interesting. well cant say i hate the divorced DP too much, aint nothing like coming home, smelling like boost ehh? ehhh??? :)
picking up a boost gauge tomorrow morning and ill check in with results on that.
its a divorced downpipe, no sign of manufacturer on the DP or the exhaust. the bend of the DP didnt look severe enough to cause issues, but seeing as a possibility ill look into it as well.
i do not have an aftermarket gauge, working on that at the moment.
I have noticed that the stock gauge does not read vacc at all. ( i did a vacc test on the engine, 20hg @ idle ) so I am curious as to how true the actual boost reading is.
the line from the WG to the turbo checked out okay...
ok guys maybe yall can point me in the right direction here.
Been tinkering with my 7mgte past few weeks replacing HG and stuff. before i had BHG tho, i noticed that the car produces too much boost and hit fuel cut.
got it back together and still same result.
anyways, heres what i have...
well, ha, ever since i was 16 i had an eye for the mk3's that nobody around me never understood. how could a car from the late 80s and non-exotic possibly be a dream car? well. it has everything i could ever want, well almost. The miata i had spoiled me with its precision handling and i dont...
pfftt. gained the supra and lost the ole lady of 5 years in the same week LOL!!!
plans with the car are fairly simple, AC first. because north FL summers are hot/humid as hell. then on to pulling 350whp out of it.
that v8 afm/550 trick is genius, and i shall use that tactic for a nice boost...
i missed a S at the end of dude haha! thats funny. its a 88. my oldest car to date, but the most awesome, i still cant get over the fact it has a crotch vent!!! :)
anyways heres a better pic.
hey dude! love the site, its good to see that theres quite the love for mk3 supras. just picked one up a month ago, turbo hardtop for the straight trade of the 90 miata i had haha.
anyways, HELLO!!! :biglaugh:
