quick question... will the boost cut throw a check engine light?

and my cam gears were quite off (maybe 3-4 teeth on both).. no wonder there was no boost/revving past 3.5k!:aigo:

i was checking my coils for cracks and once i put everything together i started and it seemed like it ran BAD (like the timing is off kind of bad :)). so i knew i did something Lol, double checked the coils and started it up again...
ran a little better but D'oH noticed my timing belt was...
the 2jz fpr is between the first and second injector, i felt i could tap the end like where the 1jz FPR sits and plug the old port (i would tap it and use a plug w/ o ring) then the kit would work fine. anyone see any problems with this before i attempt it on my spare fuel rail?
